Family Update

As some of you know, Chad had an unexpected trip to the emergency room on Sunday afternoon. He got home from Lockhart early Sunday afternoon and was very upset when he got home b/c he thought he had a stroke the night before. The right side of his face was numb and droopy and he had a pounding headache and a terrible taste in his mouth. After the ER doctor performed a cat scan and a chest x-ray on him, he ruled out a stroke. Chad was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, a nerve disorder. After a few hours in the ER, he was released and we came home. We went to see a neurologist on Monday and he said the same thing the ER doctor said....it was Bell's Palsy. Chad is going back to the hospital tomorrow to get a MRI and then we are going to have a follow up visit with the neurologist to hopefully see what is causing Chad to have some vision and slurred speech issues. Thank you for all your phone calls, emails and prayers. We are just so glad it was not a stroke. We will keep you posted on the results from the MRI.

On a lighter note, Annemarie is just getting bigger and funnier everyday. I swear she grows an inch every night. She LOVES to shove her hands in her mouth anytime she can and drool (and spit up) go everywhere. She is scheduled to have an upper GI scan on Thursday to see if there is a problem in her stomach/digestive tract. Chad and I think she is spitting up even more now. Poor thing! Above are a few pictures we have taken throughout the week.

I hope everything is going okay with Chad...and I hope everything is okay with Annemaire too. The bathtub picture is so cute, she looks just like chad in this one!

I just heard about your scare today. We will be thinking of you guys. Let me know if you need anything...maybe some taser treatment? Does Annemarie like the bouncer? I want to try one with Lilly.

I had Bell's Palsey too! I was diagnosed last year. It lasted only two weeks, for which I am grateful. Apparently, it is just a virus. I didn't have to take medication, as the symptoms were lessening already by the time I was diagnosed. Good luck with everything!

Hi Katie!
First of all, I hope Chad is doing ok--I have had 2 different friends with this, and both recovered completely and are fine now.
I love the pics of Annemarie---I can not believe how much she and Addison look alike! How funny!
